Mark-Matthew McDill of Artesia took on Jake Angel of Albuquerque June 25 in the bantam-weight division at Buffalo Thunder Casino and Resort, finishing at the 2:16 mark in the first round with a right upper-cut that was followed by a referee stoppage. McDill took the fight despite Angel coming in five pounds overweight. McDill says he gives his glory to God and thanks his sponsors, Taddy Family Clinic, Benchmark Real Estate Services, and Lita and Tim Reser, along with his coach, Milo Schoonmaker. McDill, now 3-0, feels he will pose a big threat at 135.
