A man wanted for posing as a contractor and targeting older citizens is being sought by the Killeen, Texas, police.

Donald Joe Ray Buechner is wanted in Eddy County as well as two counties in Texas. Texas authorities say they believe Buechner could be in the Roswell or Ruidoso areas because of family connections in those cities. He may also be in other areas of Southeast New Mexico.

Buechner tells senior citizens he will do work on their homes. He requires a deposit from them, then never returns to do the work. He will also use an accomplice to make contact with victims.

Buechner, who generally goes by the first name of Donnie, is 38 with brown hair and eyes. He stands approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 240 pounds. He faces Texas charges of theft by fraud and theft of services, and New Mexico charges of contracting without a license.

Anyone with potential information about Buechner’s whereabouts is asked to call the Killeen Police Department Crime Stoppers hotline at 254-526-TIPS (8477).
