    AP Interview: Egypt’s leader says country in ‘ferocious war’

    UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said in an interview that the Mideast region needs to cooperate to defeat a worsening terrorist threat that has led to a “ferocious war” in Egypt and created the danger of some countries “sliding into failure.”

    China vows billions of development dollars, debt forgiveness

    UNITED NATIONS (AP) — China’s president on Saturday pledged billions in aid and said Beijing will forgive debts due this year in an effort to help the world’s poorest nations, as world leaders begin to seek the trillions of dollars needed to help achieve sweeping new development goals.
