    ST. LOUIS (AP) — Paul Clemens got hurt on two fastballs to the St. Louis Cardinals’ hottest hitter. So much for being macho.

    ST. LOUIS (AP) — Jedd Gyorko homered for the fifth straight game off San Diego pitching, connecting twice with all three RBIs in a 3-2 victory that gave the St. Louis Cardinals a doubleheader sweep Wednesday night.

    Cardinals 3B Peralta back on disabled list with thumb injury

    ST. LOUIS (AP) — Cardinals third baseman Jhonny Peralta is going back on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained ligament in his surgically repaired left thumb.

    ST. LOUIS (AP) — Ichiro Suzuki doubled, singled twice and had another hit taken away on a replay challenge, leaving him six shy of 3,000 in the Miami Marlins’ 6-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.
