    Titans of Mavericks surf contest takes place Friday

    HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) — Northern Californian Nic Lamb won the prestigious big-wave surfing contest known as the Titans of Mavericks Friday.

    Big-wave surfers gather in Hawaii for prestigious event

    HALEIWA, Hawaii (AP) — Legendary surfer Eddie Aikau would have gone out. But Wednesday’s surf in Hawaii didn’t stack up to his namesake competition’s big-wave standards, and the event was called off hours before it was supposed to happen.

    Titans of Mavericks surf contest set for Friday

    HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (AP) — The renowned big-wave competition, Titans of Mavericks, has been set for Friday.
