The grandstands were packed at the 80th annual Eddy County Fair as rodeo fans watched bull rider Noah Lee.

Two individuals whose names are synonymous with high school sports in Alamogordo and across the state were honored recently with inductions into the New Mexico High School Coaches Association (NMHSCA) Hall of Honor.

RUIDOSO – Volunteers from Holloman Air Force Base were out in force at the White Mountain Athletic Complex July 25.

On June 21, he competed at the USA Grappling (USAG) Team Trials to earn a spot on Team USA Teen Division, which will represent the United States at the World Tournament in Greece in the fall of 2025. 

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 25-6 overall record and were 9-0 in District 4-A-4. The ’Dogs went on a 14-game winning streak after suffering a 2-0 loss to Carlsbad on the road. 

Around Carlsbad, fishing for largemouth bass was good using small crankbaits in the pool below the Tansill Dam.

While flooding did not directly impact the Eagle Creek Complex, participation may have been affected by the recent devastation, according to tournament directors Billy and Patsy Page.

Phillip Jowers, the Bulldogs' head coach since 2015, said the purpose of the camp is to give back to the community and to say thank you for their support.

Applications are being accepted through Aug. 13 by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish for draw Sandhill crane and pheasant permits.
