RUIDOSO DOWNS – King Estate, a 2-year-old New Mexico-bred gelding, raced away from the field to win the third trial at Ruidoso Downs July 4.

Veteran trainer Tony Sedillo hopes to dominate this weekend’s trials for the Zia Futurity and Zia Derby.

RUIDOSO DOWNS – Trainer Xavier Rodriguez and the ownership group led by La Feliz Montana Ranch continued their winning ways June 8 at Ruidoso Downs Race Track as their 2-year-old quarter horse Political Twist scored a length and a half victory in the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity.

FDD Dreams paid $3 to win on a $2 bet, while Little Vaquero paid $5 to place.

Jingle Wood’s four-length victory in trials for the $350,000 Mountain Top Futurity on May 30 was an eye-opener for racing fans at Ruidoso Downs, including trainer Clint Crawford. The gelding’s race time of 17.608 seconds at 350-yards was fastest that day.
