The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) has made an arrest in the 2015 murder of a Horse Springs, N.M., man.
Adrianna Elizondo was arrested today and charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Keith Wayne Riley.
ECSO deputies were dispatched April 22, 2015, to the Cavern City Motel in White’s City in reference to a male with a gunshot wound to the chest. Upon arrival, they found Riley deceased in the room.
Detectives spoke with witnesses, including Elizondo, the mother of Riley’s then-8-month-old child, and determined the couple were in their third consecutive day of arguments with one another. Witnesses stated they could hear the two yelling at one another as well as what some described as multiple “physical domestic violence altercations” inside the room, all of which ultimately culminated in the shooting.
Elizondo was arraigned in Carlsbad Magistrate Court and released on a $50,000 bond.
