12:59 p.m. – Roberto Cortez Jr., 26, of Artesia, arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

ARREST

11 a.m. – Edgar Luevano, 17, of Artesia, arrested and charged with shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and concealing identity.

Jahnika A. Guajardo, 19, of Artesia, found guilty of probation violation and failure to pay fines. Sentenced to 86 days in ECDC and 582 days of supervised probation.
Jason W. Phillips, 44, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for preliminary examination May 18 on charges of larceny (over $500, but less than $2,500).

Robert Cortez, 26, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for preliminary examination May 25 on charges of homicide by vehicle and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily harm or death.
David Allen Bradshaw, 44, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for a non-jury trial June 1 on charges of aggravated DWI, failure to give immediate notice of an accident, and no proof of insurance.
