ARTESIA — City Councilor Nora Sanchez, District 2, has announced her intent to run for reelection in the March municipal election.
Sanchez has served three years on the City Council, having been appointed in 2009 and then winning election to a two-year term in 2010.
Sanchez is a proud fourth-generation Artesian who has always resided in District 2. After graduation from Artesia High School in 1970, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Eastern New Mexico University. Sanchez is married to Lorenzo Sanchez, and they have two adult children, Audrey and Sergio. With a lifelong interest in local, state and federal government, she is proud of instilling in both her children the importance of their civic duty by registering them and taking them to vote in their first
