PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — The streets of North Korea’s showcase capital were filled with runners from all over the world on Sunday for the annual Pyongyang marathon, which was open to foreign amateurs this year for the first time.

BOSTON (AP) — A photo shoot for a sports magazine cover marking the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings has attracted thousands of people, including survivors of the twin explosions, emergency workers, well-wishers and city officials.

Boston police chief: Plan for worst-case scenarios

2008 Olympic pole vault champion Hooker retires

ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) — Former Olympic pole vault champion Steve Hooker of Australia has announced he is retiring from the sport, saying he is still physically fit but doesn’t have the mental drive to continue at the top.
