JOHANNESBURG (AP) — The “Memoirs of a Porcupine,” the “Confessions of the Lioness” and the lessons from the Sahara desert are just some of the titles and themes explored by the four authors from Africa who are among 10 finalists for the Man Booker International Prize.

JOHANNESBURG (AP) — A judge in South Africa on Monday convicted Bob Hewitt, a former Grand Slam tennis champion, of raping and sexually assaulting three girls whom he had been coaching. The assaults occurred decades ago, according to the victims who are now grown women.
