AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — The Oakland University Board of Trustees on Wednesday selected George W. Hynd, who formerly served as provost and executive vice president of academic affairs for the College of Charleston in South Carolina, as the suburban Detroit school’s next president.

Board will no longer pay extracurricular insurance

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — The Calcasieu Parish School Board has voted to eliminate the district’s student athletic insurance policy because of rising premium costs and budget constraints.

Oakland University to name new president Wednesday
