KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Devon Baulkman scored a career-high 22 points off the bench Monday as Tennessee held Mercer without a basket for an 11-minute stretch in the Volunteers’ 64-54 victory.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Melvin Johnson hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark an 18-2 second-half run Monday night and VCU broke open a close game and beat East Tennessee State 84-60, the Rams’ fourth consecutive victory.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Trevor Cooney scored 20 points, Rakeem Christmas had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Syracuse beat overmatched Colgate 78-43 on Monday night.
