Els gets a tip and a compliment to end streak

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Ernie Els showed up at Bay Hill having missed the cut in four consecutive tournaments, the longest such streak of his career since 1993 when he missed the cut at the Honda Classic, Bay Hill, The Players Championship and the Benson & Hedges Open in England.

LONDON (AP) — Darren Clarke says he could ask Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to address Europe’s Ryder Cup team before it takes on the United States at Hazeltine next year.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The putt was from 18 feet on the final hole at Bay Hill, with the tournament riding on the outcome. The ball caught the left edge of the cup and disappeared, the gallery erupted with cheers and the winner gave an abbreviated fist pump filled with raw emotion.
