Teen asked to adapt ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ for stage

NEW YORK (AP) — A new stage adaptation of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” has been commissioned from an up-and-coming playwright not much older than Sawyer was in the landmark book.
