Serbia protests IOC Kosovo provisional recognition

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — Serbia has officially protested the International Olympic Committee’s decision to grant provisional recognition to Kosovo.

LONDON (AP) — The IOC accepted Kosovo into the Olympic fold on Wednesday, clearing the way for the former Serbian province to send an independent team to the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Albania PM seeks to ease tensions with Serbia

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — Albania’s prime minister said Wednesday that his nation and Serbia must try to end decades of hostility toward one another by focusing on major issues such as their mutual desire to join the European Union, not last week’s dispute over a soccer match.
