Harness track purchase to draw scrutiny

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A proposal by the Keeneland Association and a partner to acquire an Appalachian harness track and shift its license to build a quarter horse track in the Corbin area will draw close scrutiny, horse racing regulators said.

Kentucky tracks still jostling over race dates

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Jockeying over racing dates between Churchill Downs and Kentucky Downs stretched closer toward a Nov. 1 deadline, and horse racing regulators warned Tuesday they’ll step in to settle the dispute if necessary.
