Review: Apple-centric ‘Modern Family’ goes beyond gimmicks

NEW YORK (AP) — When “Modern Family” producers revealed that they shot this week’s episode entirely with the iPhone and other Apple products, I was skeptical. I’ve seen too many good shows decline in quality over time. I worried this 6-year-old show was resorting to a gimmick.

Microsoft’s 3Q earnings grow 31 pct; stock falls

Microsoft Corp.’s latest quarterly earnings rose 31 percent even as sales of its Windows operating system sagged.
