BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) — Star forward Alex Morgan left the game after spraining her left ankle in the 37th minute, a blow to the United States in its 5-0 win over Guatemala in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship on Friday night.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Abby Wambach scored in the 54th minute to help the United States beat Trinidad and Tobago 1-0 on Wednesday night in their opening Women’s World Cup qualifying game.

Canadian Soccer responds to players’ turf lawsuit

The Canadian Soccer Association maintains the artificial turf that will be used at the 2015 Women’s World Cup is first class and that a gender discrimination lawsuit filed by several players over the surface has no merit.
