GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Bobby Petrino turned Louisville into a top-10 team nearly a decade ago. Now, more than two years after a scandal derailed his career, Petrino is back with the Cardinals as they enter the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Judge likely to release CT results in Kolstad case

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — A judge likely will allow the attorney for former Minnesota Gophers quarterback Philip Nelson to have access to brain scans of the former football player Nelson is accused of assaulting, after the prosecutor and a lawyer for the victim indicated no opposition to the request Monday.

Jacksonville State preseason favorite to win OVC

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jacksonville State may be the happiest that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo now is in the NFL. The Gamecocks, who lost the outright league title to Garoppolo and Eastern Illinois last year, are this preseason’s favorite in the Ohio Valley Conference.
