Father bests son as Middle Tenn beats Mississippi

Soviet hockey coach Tikhonov dies at 84

MOSCOW (AP) — Viktor Tikhonov, the Soviet hockey coach whose teams won three Olympic gold medals but fell to the United States in the “Miracle on Ice,” died after a long illness. He was 84.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Brett Hundley’s first pass was intercepted by Southern California linebacker Anthony Sarao, who returned it up the UCLA sideline for a shocking touchdown. Red-clad fans rocked the predominantly blue Rose Bowl, hoping this rivalry was undergoing a seismic shift.
