BALTIMORE (AP) — The New York Yankees got a solid performance from starter Phil Hughes, Travis Hafner drove in a pair of runs and the bullpen permitted only three hits over the final four innings.

Correction: Rays-Orioles story

BALTIMORE (AP) — In a story May 19 about the Tampa Bay Rays’ 3-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, The Associated Press, using information from the Orioles’ game notes, reported erroneously that 23-year-old Matt Moore is the youngest lefty to start the season 8-0 since Babe Ruth in 1917. Moore is the youngest left-handed American League pitcher used exclusively as a starter to start 8-0 since Ruth in 1917.

BALTIMORE (AP) — One big reason for the Baltimore Orioles’ success last season was Jim Johnson, who led the majors with 51 saves and was as reliable as an expensive watch.

Police: Guns, cash stolen from Ray Rice’s Md. home

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Police say the Maryland home of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was burglarized over the weekend, and $2,000 and two guns were stolen.
