Mary Lois Hall, president of the Residents Council, welcomed Franklin to the organization on behalf of the residents. "We hope that youll feel that this is your home," said Earlene Wages, activity director and social services designee, who welcomed Franklin on behalf of the staff and presented him with a special gift. "In order to be a part of this town, you need to be a Bulldog supporter," Wages said as she handed Franklin a candyfilled Bulldog coffee mug tied with orange Bulldog balloons. Dan Hanson, regional director of the Good Samaritan Society, read a letter of farewell to the center and best wishes to Franklin from former administrator Langemo. Good Samaritan Helpers Club President and Vice President Mary Hendrickson and Jo Threewit also wished Franklin well. "We are looking forward to working with Steve," Hendrickson said. To conclude the ceremony, Franklin read the Good Samaritan Society Code of Ethics and was officially installed by Hanson, followed by a closing prayer led by Good Samaritan Chaplain Wayne Bedingfield.
