FLETC escape rumors false, says mayor

Artesia to host Color Run event in April

Working fast and furious to grab up the only date left this year for Color Run events, Artesia Center recreation specialist Tara Williams has coordinated efforts with the Boy and Girl Scouts, Kitchen Mamas, Artesia Clean & Beautiful, and the Get Cut Fitness Center to put on Artesia’s first 5K Color Run April 12. Structure fire

Above, the Artesia Fire Department works to extinguish a blaze Wednesday evening at a local residence. The AFD was dispatched at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday to a structure fire at 309 W. Cleveland Ave. The fire may have been caused by a faulty water heater. The home sustained significant damage. No injuries were reported. Grace Miller – Daily Press
