KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Salvador Perez and the pesky Kansas City Royals fought back from a Game 1 flop to beat the San Francisco Giants’ brilliant bullpen and even the World Series.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic has been limited by ankle problems in his four-year NBA career, prompting the coaching staff to cap his minutes this season in an effort to keep him healthy.

Attorney says Kings’ Voynov didn’t hit girlfriend

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Slava Voynov’s attorney says the Los Angeles Kings defenseman never hit his girlfriend, and blames Voynov’s arrest on a misunderstanding caused partly by the couple’s limited ability to speak English.

NEW YORK (AP) — Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points, including a tiebreaking three-point play with 13.9 seconds left, and the New York Knicks overcame a 10-point deficit late in the third quarter to beat the Washington Wizards 103-100 on Wednesday night.
