Emma Mitchell, 10, has been selected as a Hey, Mozart! New Mexico Composer for a Christian melody she wrote about how Jesus healed Bartimaeus, the blind baker. Hey, Mozart! is an annual opportunity for children to create their own original melodies to be professionally composed and arranged for choir and orchestra. The songs will be performed before a live audience in Albuquerque in November. Mitchell’s melody was one of 16 winning compositions out of 222 entries. Mitchell says she wrote the melody all by herself and hopes it will draw more people to Christianity. (Tyler Green – Daily Press)
