It was probably dry the last time I rode the trail -
Rain, snow, and bad conditions in general can really change the character of any trail.
I live nearby and get to ride the trails frequently. My wife will attest that I tend to remember the tough rides through rain, mud, and darkness as an adventure. She does not.
IN GENERAL:
The trails on the western slope are drier and steeper. Anything west of West Side Road (FR 90) can be brutal on a summer day. You must carry water and be in good physical condition in case of a mechanical breakdown.
- Easiest - Good
hiking trail, easy under any conditions.
- Moderate - A
motorcycle trail that can be ridden by a rider with average skill under good
weather conditions.
- Difficult - A
tough motorcycle trail that might be possible to climb under perfect conditions.
Trail damage will probably result from your attempt to climb a trail like this.

- Most Difficult - Downhill only unless trail is repaired or rerouted.
