I've been riding on the motorcycle trails near Gunnison, Colorado since 1994.
I believe they are better and here's why.
1) The people are friendlier. We meet Forest Service employees and contract laborers on the trails who are helpful and friendly. People in the small communities near the trails are glad to see us and happy that we have a little bit of money to spend.
2) Many trails are motorcycle-only. No four-wheelers. This leaves the trails in better condition and makes riding more enjoyable. Also, the trails still look like hiking trails or cow trails.
3) The scenery is world-class. Unbelievable.
4) More trails. A much larger selection
5) More moisture. Creek crossings can make things more interesting or more difficult, depending on your perspective, but I like being challenged with some variety once in a while.
