Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Henry Anthony “Tony” Hall of Artesia.

Hall, 72, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in El Paso, Texas, from an extended illness.

Hall, Jacob Rivera and Joshua Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Campanella, Dean Wilcox, David Bratcher, Luke Edington, Mike McFarland and Mack Chase.

Tony was born July 29, 1946, in Artesia, the son of Henry and Thelma (Slater) Hall.

In 1965, he married Loretta Jean Campanella in Tijeras. It’s not like she had much choice, because he ran any boy out of town who showed interest in her, as he was a State and Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.

Other activities and accomplishments include: member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Army veteran, served as president of the Quarterback Club, and coached Little League baseball and girl’ softball for more than 25 years.

Tony worked from age 13 and took pride in his work as the co-owner of H W Enterprises prior to retiring from Mack Energy Corporation as a completion supervisor in 2014.

Tony deeply loved his wife and children, and he looked forward to family gatherings. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his boss and best buddy, Mack Chase. He enjoyed playing cards and fantasy football, and going dancing. He was a lifelong Bulldogs and Cowboys fan. Most importantly, he loved God.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Hall, of the home; sons Antony Hall and wife Tish, and Jeremy Hall and wife Joanna, both of Artesia, and Gabriel Hall of Carlsbad; daughter Cecily Washington and husband Chris of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Kandese Green and husband Jake, Adrian Hall, Antony M. Hall, Jacob Rivera, Joshua Rivera, Victoria Hall, Sydney Hall, Maddox Hall, Sophia Washington, Xavier Washington, and Baby Washington; great-grandchild Sage Green; and brother Richard “Guy” Evans and wife Verna Nelson of Modesto, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; infant son Joseph Solomon; and brothers David “Jerry” Hall and Thomas “Red” Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Help Center of Artesia, P.O. Box 1630, Artesia, N.M., 88211-1630; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital; or Food for the Poor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Condolences may be expressed online at www.artesiafunerals.com.
