Two Artesians were arrested early this morning after leading the authorities on a lengthy pursuit.

Greg Marquez, 28, and Louisa Lara, 26, began fleeing officers with the Artesia Police Department around 11 p.m. Monday in the area of Eighth Street and Richey Avenue. The pursuit ended in their arrests at 2 a.m. today.

Marquez and Lara were both charged with failure to comply, as well as crimes for which they were wanted on warrants. Marquez was additionally charged with shoplifting and battery, and Lara with an additional count of failure to comply and shoplifting.

Also arrested in connection with the incident was Ambrosia McClung on charges of failure to comply with a jail sentence.
