The Artesia Public Schools is warning local businesses and individuals of a scam regarding the Artesia High School basketball program.

Individuals have been contacting businesses stating they are soliciting ads for the basketball program. This activity is not associated with and was not authorized by the APS.

APS administration states the APS never solicits funds from businesses by phone, and any fundraisers conducted through the APS will always be accompanied by a cover letter signed by the principal of the school conducting the fundraiser.

Anyone who has received phone calls or communication by mail that does not include such a cover letter is urged to disregard the communication and contact the proper authorities.
