Members of First Baptist Church enjoyed special festivities over the weekend to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the church. According to Pastor Rick Sullivan, the anniversary celebration was held not only to remember the past but also to celebrate the future.
According to a written record on First Baptist Church, “Baptists in the Artesia area had a resolve in their hearts to carry out the commission of their Savior.” In 1904, 13 people comprised the church and, under the direction of designated pastor J.M.
