ARTESIA — James “Jim” G. Townsend is announcing his candidacy for the New Mexico House of Representatives, District 54, the seat to be vacated by William J. “Bill” Gray, who has announced his decision not to seek reelection after serving for eight years.

Townsend is retired, although he continues to serve on the Board of Directors of Holly Energy Partners, which has substantial operations in New Mexico. He worked for Holly Corporation and Holly Energy Partners for nearly 30 years before retiring in the Fall of 2011.
