The National Night Out against Crime commenced at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex Tuesday, with hundreds of Artesia residents in attendance.
“For Artesia, this night is part of a bigger national picture,” said Artesia Police Department Sgt. Esteban Sepulveda. “Police agencies throughout the country hold this event every year on the first Tuesday of every August for the past 30 years to promote the Neighborhood Watch and to promote anti-crime activities.
