Sandbags and wood planks lie on the side of West Main Street Tuesday afternoon across from the Public Safety Complex after a Dodge Dakota pickup attempted to make a U-turn in the parking lot of the complex and collided with a delivery truck headed eastbound on Main. The shipping truck, bound for Artesia Building Supply, was unable to stop when the Dodge proceeded out of the parking lot and into its path. Both vehicles ended in a ditch on the south side of the highway. The driver of the Dodge was transported to Artesia General Hospital with minor injuries and was later cited for driving without insurance.
