Dendell J. Whiteman, 25, of Artesia, has been arrested in connection to a strong arm robbery that occurred July 13 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Complex. Whiteman is one of three suspects involved in the incident and is the second to be charged.
According to the Artesia Police Department, the juvenile victim had been skating at the MLK complex on the morning of July 13 when he was approached by a white Dodge Charger. One of the vehicle’s passengers was flashing what he believed to be “gang signs” at him as the vehicle stopped. Two of the car’s occupants exited the vehicle and approached the victim, one later identified by the victim as Cody Kellar, 20, of Artesia. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
