Fourth-graders from Artesia’s elementary schools enjoyed a field trip last week to the Artesia Horse Council Arena for a rodeo demonstration by the Artesia High School rodeo team. The exhibition preceded the weekend’s high school rodeo, which continues today at the arena. “There are 120 participants that came in from various areas to rope, ride and have some fun,” said Trampas Spence, who spoke to the elementary students. “This rodeo is a great exhibition, and the kids love it.
