ARTESIA — A string of auto burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours Monday, Aug. 5, were facilitated by unlocked doors, prompting the Artesia Police Department to urge citizens to lock their vehicles at night.


On Monday, the APD was dispatched to six reports of auto burglaries between 4:53 a.m. and 7:50 a.m., two of which occurred in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Bullock Avenue, three in the 1800 and 1900 blocks of Sears Avenue, and one in the 1900 block of Clayton Avenue. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
