With the country’s energy future surfacing as a hot-button issue in recent weeks, Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Texas-32), chairman of the House Rules Committee, joined Congressman Steve Pearce (R-N.M.-2) in a visit to southeastern New Mexico for a firsthand look at an area playing a key role in that future.
Sessions – who represents District 32 in East Texas near Dallas – and Pearce toured the URENCO facility in Eunice and made a stop in Hobbs, after which Pearce was forced to break off from the tour. Sessions continued on to Artesia, where he was treated to a steak lunch at the Smokin’ on the Pecos State BBQ Championship, and sat down to discuss his views on the complexion of U.S. energy. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
