Above, workers prepare to tow a semi after it struck a gas line Thursday afternoon at First Street and Grand Avenue. According to Commander Lindell Smith of the Artesia Police Department, the semi driver tried to turn into the car wash and misjudged the turn. “There was a minimal amount of gas that leaked out as a result,” said Smith. “There were no fires, fairly minimal property damage, and no injuries.” Below, the Artesia Fire Department, New Mexico State Police and Eddy County Sheriff’s Office respond to a wreck this morning on Seven Rivers Highway. No further information on that accident was available at press time. Rob Larson – Daily Press
