On Monday morning, an Artesia Police Department officer stopped a burglary in progress and arrested Jerry D. West, 40, of Artesia. West has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of larceny, possession of marijuana (under 1 ounce), and possession, delivery and manufacturing of drug paraphernalia.
While driving north on 14th Street, an APD officer noticed the car door of a white Buick open on Hank Avenue. In the incident report, the officer stated he “noticed two feet on the ground” with a male subject bent over in the vehicle, later identified as West. West approached the officer and allegedly told him he “was getting some items out of the vehicle for a friend.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
