Repaving ongoing on three-mile stretch of 26th Street

Last Monday, the Eddy County Road Department began repaving a three-mile stretch of 26th Street, from U.S. 285 to Richey Avenue. According to North Eddy County Road Foreman Ray Romero, road crews will be paving the road with microsurface, a “reliable” road surface that is both resistant to extreme temperature damage and self-corrects minor surface problems, for the rest of this week. Romero said road crews will finish sometime next week, after the road is restriped.  
“We just want everybody to know that we really appreciate their patience on this job, especially because 26th Street sees a lot of traffic every day,” Romero said. “We’re working as quickly as we can, and we’ll be finished very soon.” … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
