Artesia man dead after shootout with authorities

CARLSBAD — A 35-year-old Artesia man is dead following
a shootout with authorities at the Carlsbad Motel 6.
Just before noon Monday, March 25, the Pecos Valley Drug
Task Force was preparing to serve an arrest warrant on the
unidentified male, who was located at Motel 6, 3817 National
