ARTESIA — A 32-year-old Artesia woman is hospitalized after receiving wounds caused by some sort of sharp object Monday evening.
Artesia Police Department officers were dispatched to 2700 W. Grand Ave. at 4:37 p.m. Monday in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, they met with several people in the area, including the female victim, who had one wound to the chest area and one to the stomach area.
She was immediately transported by ambulance to Artesia General Hospital and later transported to a Lubbock, Texas, hospital for further treatment. She is in stable condition. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
Detectives from the APD processed the scene for evidence, gathering items such as clothing and blood samples. They also interviewed people that were in the area at the time of the incident and were able to determine that a brief verbal argument ensued between the victim and suspect, ending in a violent, sudden attack.
