The New Mexico State Police and the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office respond to a rollover accident involving a SUV on the Seven Rivers Highway just south of Artesia this morning. While Commander Lindell Smith of the Artesia Police Department said the APD’s call volume was small with no wrecks reported in Artesia, the State Police stayed busy thanks to Thursday night’s snowstorm. “We actually had quite a few crashes as a result of the snow,” Capt. Dina Orosco of the State Police said, “many of them are occurring on secondary roads just off of the highways and on the outskirts of cities. A lot of them are in Lea County.” Orosco said all injuries that occurred as a result of these crashes were minor.
