ARTESIA — At 1:16 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, Jodi Kirkpatrick, also known as Jodi Glascoe, a 42-year-old Roswell resident, was arrested by Artesia Police Department officers on a felony warrant.
Kirkpatrick was charged with several violent crimes, including five counts of criminal sexual penetration, five counts of kidnapping and five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The arrest stems from a lengthy investigation performed by the Clovis Police Department. Dr. Crit Caton, superintendent of the Artesia Public Schools, said because the issue is a personnel matter, he was unable to comment directly. However, Caton said Kirkpatrick has been placed on administrative leave.
“The Artesia Public Schools, just like other public school systems across the state, are required to have background checks performed on all applicants before they are employed,” Caton said. “We will not hire applicants that have a prior criminal history.”
APD detectives are actively seeking information concerning other possible victims of Kirkpatrick or her husband, Richard Glascoe, who has already been convicted on several sex crime charges.
