Yucca Elementary School’s new fifth-grade teacher is Brandi Bowerman.
Bowerman grew up in Arizona and moved to Artesia in 2008 along with her husband, Matt, and two children, Bryce, now 15, and Kyler, 12.

She recently graduated from Northcentral University in February with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Bowerman has previously worked as a classroom aide and resource aide and has been a substitute teacher in Artesia for the last four years before accepting the fifth-grade position at Yucca.
“I am excited to be a part of this district,” said Bowerman. “It’s an amazing district.”
Bowerman also stated she is excited to learn from the children as she teaches them.
