DeHoyos is the new PE teacher at Hermosa Elementary School and Artesia High School’s new coach of JV “A” volleyball, as well as the assistant coach of JV softball. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
It was during DeHoyos’ freshman year of college when a professor really motivated her to become a PE teacher.
“She was really good,” DeHoyos said. “She inspired me to become a PE teacher that actually teaches kids things.
“I like being around kids. I wanted to teach but not in a classroom setting, and sports are really important for kids to be active and to stay active long term.”
