During Tuesday night’s council meeting, the Artesia City Council approved a resolution to adopt an Infrastructure Improvement Plan (ICIP), hashed out some rough guidelines for the Housing Incentive Program, and was provided an update on the 7024U Project by Debbie Bell and Nancy Husselman.
As Assistant Clerk Lisa Johnston pointed out, the ICIP is essentially a list of priorities the City of Artesia would like to accomplish within every fiscal year for five years. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
It is important for each municipality to submit an ICIP, with an emphasis on the top five projects every year, because the state will not consider funding any city projects without it. According to the ICIP list, the top two priorities for this upcoming fiscal year will be repairing the infrastructure on 13th Street, followed by acquiring water rights.
